Burns joins Barclays from Linklaters, where she served as Chief People Officer. Before that, she spent seven years at HSBC in several senior human resources leadership positions, including Group Head of Talent, Global Head of Human Resources for the Global Commercial and Global Banking & Markets divisions, and Head of Human Resources for HSBC UK.

Earlier in her career, Burns also held multiple leadership roles at Royal Bank of Scotland, giving her extensive experience managing talent, organizational transformation, and workforce strategy across major financial institutions.
